Roose joins CNN.com, others to rank Lagos as beautiful destination

Jaan Roose, Red Bull Athlete and 3-time World Champion Record holder, has joined several other global organizations, institutions, etc to rank Lagos State as one of the best destinations to be as he concluded his Slack-Linning walk in the megacity.
The record holder met with the Governor of Lagos State, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who was represented by Dr. Obafemi Hamazat, the Deputy Governor. Roose received a 3D collation of iconic Eyo masquerade status as a gift from the state government and its people.
It could be recalled that Jaan performed a daring Slack-Lining walk over the Skyline of Lagos, from Sterling Towers, Marina Lagos to the Onome Rig recently. The walk captured the beauty of Lagos state and more of the Blue Line Rail.
The 31-year-old, known for possessing nerves of steel, is a three-time world champion, a holder of numerous world records and the first athlete to execute a double backflip on a slackline.
The project was designed to showcase the beauty of a megacity, the Lagos State government and the Red Bull team collaborated through the Lagos Safety Commission to portray the beauty of the state.
Jaan, while receiving the gift, described his Lagos experience as wonderful, noting that he got the best view and angle of Lagos from that height. He added that Lagos State is a very advanced city and spoke glowingly about the Lagos Blue Line Rail he saw while performing the act.
In the same vein, the Deputy Governor appreciated Jann for coming to Lagos and telling the world a very good story of the state.
It would be recalled that CNN ranked Lagos State in Nigeria as one of the best 20 destinations to be on planet earth during the New Year’s Eve celebration.
The ranking, which was published on the first day of the New Year, had destinations like Dubai, Taipei Taiwan, Barcelona, Cape Town, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, New York City, Kiribati, America, Samoa, Rio de Janeiro, Reykjavik, Paris, Sydney, Lagos Nigeria, Istanbul, Edinburgh, London, Venice, Las Vegas, Koh Phangan, Thailand and Tokyo.
Brand Finance City Index 2023, also ranked Lagos as the fifth best African city for people to live, work, and invest in. The ranking is based on a global survey of close to 15,000 members of the public conducted in April 2023 in 20 countries on all continents of the world.
Lagos, Nigeria’s largest city, sprawls inland from the Gulf of Guinea across Lagos Lagoon, Victoria Island. The financial center of the metropolis is known for its beach resorts, boutiques and nightlife.
