Buhari unveils NNPC Ltd new logo

To commemorate the landmark event and the momentous transition of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.), Muhammadu Buhari, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, has unveiled the new logo of the largest oil company in Africa. The official launch was held at the state house in Abuja.
Unveiling the new logo, the president noted that NNPC Ltd will strengthen the capacity and market relevance for the present and future global energy priorities, and also create the right ultimate share that will boost the Nigerian economy. He added that the repositioned company will also operate on a single treasury account.
“This is a landmark event for the Nigerian oil industry. Our country places a high premium on shares that support investment and growth to boost our economy. We will continue to play an important role in sustaining global energy requirements.
“We are transforming our petroleum industry to strengthen its capacity and market relevance for the present and future global energy priorities. By chance of history, I had the privilege to lead the creation of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation on the 1st of July 1977. Forty four years later, I was privileged again to sign the petroleum industry Act 2021,” he said.
He added that the PIA act 2021 gave the petroleum industry improved physical framework, transparency and enhanced regulation.
“The long awaited reform of our petroleum sector, the provision of PIA 2021 has given the Nigeria petroleum industry a new impetus with improved physical framework, transparent governance, enhanced regulation and the creation of commercially driven and independent national oil company that will operate without relying on government funding and free institutional regulations such as treasury single account,” Buhari added.
“It is therefore my singular honour and privilege on this historical day of the 19th of July 2022 to unveil the NNPC Ltd whose focus is on becoming a dynamic global energy company of choice to deliver energy for today, tomorrow, for the day and days after tomorrow,” he concluded.
