Young IMC professionals on upward movement

There appears to be exciting movements in the Nigerian Integrated Marketing Communication (IMC) industry as young professionals in the sector have been on upward rise in their various fields of endeavours and discipline in recent times. These proud scions of the industry include Wole Adedeji, Tolulope Bamgbose, Otiga Alih, Adedotun Ajibade and Joel-Chinweizu Jeff Onyegbule.
Joel Chinweizu Jeff-Onyegbule who was formerly the Art Director at Isobar, a Global digital experience agency has now been appointed by X3M Ideas creative communications as its new Deputy Manager Art. Jeff-Onyegbule is an experienced art director with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry. He is skilled in customer service, Public speaking, social media and research.
While speaking with MARKETING EDGE Magazine on his appointment, Jeff-Onyegbule explained what his role entails. In his words: “My role entails delivering quality ad materials and creative’s based on client briefs and requirements; it’s my duty to expand and flesh out ideas visually. Also as a deputy Manager/creative head I am responsible for supervising art directors and interns in line with creative requirements. “My new appointment as Deputy Manager means X3M IDEAS will be expecting top notch, award winning creative’s and campaigns working hand in hand with other creatives.”
Onyegbule has Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Fine and Applied arts from University of Nigeria, Nsukka.
Tolulope Bamgbose, a former Deputy Creative Director at SO&U has moved to Insight Publicis now as the Deputy Creative Director at, a leading marketing communications agency. Bamgbose is an experienced deputy creative director with a demonstrated history of working in the marketing and advertising industry. He is skilled in corporate Identity, design, Integrated Marketing and Advertising.
He has Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics at Covenant University. He was a certified copywriter and Integrated Marketer by Miami Ad School. He also has a certificate in Fundamentals of Digital Marketing at Google Digital Skills For Africa.
Another promising marketer is Wole Adedeji. He was formerly with Interswitch Group but now the General Manager, Marketing, Brands and Communications at Churchgate Group, a conglomerate in Nigeria with interests in industrial, trading & commercial real estate.
Wole has close to two decades of experience in FMCG, Marketing Communication and Fintech companies. This includes Heineken/NB, Guinness/Diageo, Insight Communication, Interswitch Group, McCann & OMD. His experience also covers areas such as Brand and corporate communication, innovation development from concept to market, commercial planning/retail execution/Go-to-Market, Consumer Planning, brand sponsorship asset management, data science and insight, media planning and digital marketing among others.
In his new role at Churchgate Group, he will be responsible for the marketing and commercial strategy that will drive lead generation for the group product portfolio and help deliver customer acquisition objectives.
Wole holds a B.sc in Psychology from the Nnamdi Azikiwe University and M.sc Marketing and Management from the University of Lagos. He also attended Imperial College London’s Executive School of Business where he studied Digital Transformation for Business.
Another person on Marketing Edge’s radar is Adedotun Ajibade, now the Media and Communications Manager at DKT International. He was formerly the deputy manager, Brand Management at 7even Interactive Media. Ajibade is an Account manager with diverse experience in managing and developing business to business and business to consumer across various business sectors. He has developed and managed various marketing and marketing communication campaigns from conception to execution while working with various teams and independently.
He holds a B.A in Demography and Social Statistics at Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. He studied business lessons at Harvard Business School Online. He also holds an Ordinary National diploma in Marketing at Federal Polytechnic Ede and Advanced Brand Management at Brand Management Academy.
Next is Otiga Alih who was formerly the Business Development Manager at Woodgate Structure Ltd but now the Senior Sales Associate at Anakle Limited. Anakle is a digital agency, building experiences for online and offline audiences. Our team develops strategy and executes campaigns for clients and agencies. He is the Founder of Adagba Limited, Alih is into social media marketing, lead generation, advertising, content strategy, content marketing, marketing consulting and brand marketing.
He holds a Bachelor’s Degree (B.A) in Geography and Planning at Kogi State University, Anyigba, Kogi state.
These professionals are upwardly mobile; they have shown outstanding character in delivering value in terms of service offerings in the competitive IMC industry. Little wonder why they are celebrated and deservedly won accolades at different fora.
