Wavemaker consolidates global media account with Audible

Amazon’s Audible Inc., an audio services company, has appointed GroupM’s Wavemaker as its new agency of record for paid media worldwide, effective immediately.
According to COMvergence, a research firm, the annual billings on the account are estimated at $475 million. For U.S. spending is approximately $125 million with nearly $80 million of the total earmarked for online channels.
Audible is headquartered in Newark, NJ and operates in 10 markets: US, Canada, UK, Spain, France, Italy, Germany, India, Japan, and Australia.
Wavemaker’s appointment follows a global consolidation review led by Cynthia Chu, CFO and Growth Officer and Susan Jurevics, EVP, Head of International. Audible retained media and marketing consultancy ID Comms to assist with the process.
According to a statement by Cynthis Chu: “Wavemaker’s energized approach to media will help Audible reach many more potential customers around the world and their global background will bring a nuanced, individualized approach to each marketplace in which we offer our service.”
