Vitafoam launches “Early Days Breastfeeding and pillow”

Vitafoam Nigeria Plc has launched two new products, ‘Vitafoam Early Days Breastfeeding and pillows’ to mark this year Breastfeeding Week.

The Group Managing Director, Vitafoam Nigeria, Mr. Taiwo Adeniyi, said this in Lagos during the launch of the new products, saying that the move would enable the company to increase its market share and also meet the changing needs of its customers.

A statement from the company said the Lagos State First Lady, Mrs. Bola Ambode, unveiled the products, which were aimed at reducing infant mortality in the country, as part of the World Breastfeeding Week celebrations.

Adeniyi was quoted as saying that the company remained committed to the production of innovative products, not just to meet the needs of the customers, but to enhance shareholder value.

He added that the operations of the company had transcended the production of mattresses and pillows to quality baby furniture, among other things.

He said, “Vitafoam has ventured into production and supply of flexible, semi rigid and rigid polyurethane foam products including furniture, bed and beddings. This expansion gave birth to some of its current subsidiaries: Vitapur, Vitagreen, Vitasco and Vitabloom.”

He said the new products introduced by the firm would help protect mother and child against the challenges of breastfeeding in public places and problems such as back pain.

Unveiling the products, the Lagos State first lady was quoted as saying that Vitafoam Nigeria deserved commendation for the production of childcare products aimed at reducing infant mortality in the country and for being a good corporate citizen.

She called on the government and organisations in the country to support such initiatives in order to help build a better society.

She explained that the Lagos State government had increased the maternity leave from three months to six months with 10-day paternity leave in order to support proper child care.

On the World Breastfeeding Week, Adeniyi, was quoted as saying that the company’s support for the week led it to produce products, which would ensure that mothers breastfed their babies in comfort either in private or public.

He thanked the Lagos State government for its efforts, through such initiatives as the extension of maternity leave, to ensure that children receive proper care.
