Thisday Editor set to become INEC Commissioner

Barring any last minute hitches, Thisday’s Law Editor Mrs. May Agbamuche-Mbu will become a Commissioner at the Independent National Electoral Commission.
Her name along with five others has been sent on Thursday to the Senate for mandatory confirmation.

Mrs. Agbamuche-Mbu, who will be representing the South-South region on the board of INEC, and the other five had earlier received the blessing of the the National Council of State last Wednesday.

Other nominees for INEC board were Professor Okechukwu Obinna Ibeanu (Anambra, South-east); Air Vice Marshall Ahmed Tijani Mu’Azu (rtd) (Gombe, North-east); Mohammed Kudu Haruna ((Niger, North-central); Dr. Adekunle Ladipo Ogunmola (Oyo, South-west); Abubakar Ahmed Nahuche (Zamfara, North-west).
Alongside being Law Editor at Thisday, Mrs. Agbamuche-Mbu is also a Principal Partner at Norfolk Partners, a legal practitioner as well as arbitrators and consultants.

According to her Linked-In page, she is also a Member Advisory Board of Alegna Global Partnerships Limited. A Management Consultancy and Financial Advisory Firm.
On March 1st 2016, she was named a member of the Committee to prepare the Road Map for the Development of the Solid Minerals Sector by Dr.Kayode Fayemi Minister of Solid Minerals.
