Stanbic IBTC holds SME Seminar in Ibadan

In a bid to develop and promote the small and medium scale enterprise (SMEs) segment of the Nigerian economy and to encourage businessmen who strives for good returns, Stanbic IBTC Bank, a member of the internationally recognised financial brand, Stanbic IBTC Holdings, held a seminar in Ibadan recently.

The seminar which took place at the iconic Ibadan Civic centre had in attendance over 500 participants from different parts of Oyo State and also drew participants from the neighbouring states for the one-day capacity building workshop.

Executive Director, Personal and Business Banking, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Obinna Abajue, the bank’s SME Regional Head, Mr.Tayo Adediran disclosed that the bank’s core purpose for organising the workshop was to provide its clients in the SME’s sector with the needed financial, marketing and management skills required to develop and expand their businesses.

“The SME sector is pivotal to the economic growth and development of any nation and Nigeria is no exception, which is why the seminar was conceived to avail SME owners exposure to modern and innovative marketing, financial and management skills that are useful to their businesses and which will help them to attract the necessary funding for growth.”

Furthermore, Mr.Adediran affirmed that the bank which is backed by the largely successful Standard Bank Group is devoted to building a strong SME sector in Nigeria and it has shown her commitment to the cause by imparting SME operators with the requisite business skills and financial assistance
