Rema performs live at Ballon d‘Or

Divine Ikubor, Afrobeats superstar, popularly known as Rema, delivered a thrilling performance at the 2023 Ballon d’Or award recently.
The Nigeria multiple award-winning singer gave an electrifying performance with his hit song “Calm Down”, with so much style and swag in the presence of football stars from all over the world.
Rema is the first Afrobeats artiste to ever perform at the Ballon d’Or awards, and this shows just how far the singer has gone in the year 2023. His unique blend of Afrobeat and contemporary sounds left a lasting impression on attendees, solidifying his status as one of Nigeria’s most promising musical exports.
The Nigeria super star was invited to perform after Manchester City won the prize for Club of the Season. Rema stepped off the stage to shake hands with many football stars sitting in the front row, including Erling Haaland and Vinicius Jr.
His latest EP, Ravage, is also a testament to his success, as it debuted on the charts in over 50 countries a few hours after its release on Friday, October 26, 2023.

The Ballon d’Or is an esteemed individual award in the world of football, established by France Football magazine in 1956, While the Ballon d’Or itself has been presented in varying circumstances over the years, the core principle at its heart has remained unchanged. Ever since Sir Stanley Matthews became the inaugural winner in 1956, right up to Lionel Messi receiving the 2023 prize on Monday, being handed the golden ball is regarded as the most prestigious individual honour available in football.
No player has won more Ballon d’Or awards than Messi, who has eight to his name. Cristiano Ronaldo is second on the leaderboard with five awards, while several footballing luminaries are tied in third place with three awards each: Michel Platini, Johan Cruyff and Marco van Basten.
