Philips Unveils First Brand Shop In Africa

Leading electronic company, Philips West Africa, has unveiled their first brand shop in Africa. The shop was opened in Okota Shopping Mall in Ajah to ensure that consumers can have easy access to original Philip products.

Some of the products that were activated in the brand shop are Philip Viva Blender, Philip Avance Food Processor, Philip Viva Air Fryer, Philip Iron, Blender, Easy Speed Steam Iron, Power Steam Iron, Philip Clippers and so on.

Chioma Nweke, General Manager Personal Health, Philips West Africa noted that those who patronize the brand shop can be guaranteed of buying the original Philips product which in turn helps to keep them healthy.

The products have been designed with consumers in mind. We have ensured that when you use our products you can maintain a healthy lifestyle,” she said. She said with Philip products consumers can be free from the hazard of colostrum, cancer and other food relation health hazards.

She however added that staying healthy starts with the lifestyle choices that we make, that is why we ensure that our products makes like healthier and easier. “Fake products are dangerous, they can cause harm to people that use them. For example fake bulbs can explode and cause fire,” Nweke said.

She particularly stressed that all the bottles used in Philips for its products are BPA-free and BPA have been discovered by researchers to cause cancer. That is why BPA bottles have been banned in Europe and America.

Unfortunately that is not the case in Nigeria, as NAFDAC is yet to take a public stand on the issue of BBA products. And most of the bottles used especially for counterfeit appliances are known to have BPA.

She challenged Nigerians to take responsibility for their health by insisting on buying Philip products. “The only way we could guarantee our health is to buy Philip products. We need to be aware of what it means to live healthy. This is where our Philips kitchen appliances become relevant,” Nweke said.

Speaking about the Airfryer that was activated today, Chef Paul who demonstrated how it works said the it has the ability to fry, roast, bake or grill any kind of food without the use of oil. It can also be used to fry potatoes, plantain and do all kinds of frying without the hassles of excess oil. The fryer can equally be used for cooking all kinds of soups. “The fryer can even extract excess oil from meat when frying,” Chef Paul said.

Philips has said that the Okota shop is the first as it intends to open more consumer contact point in other parts of Lagos and Nigeria.

Brand shop owner, Franches Minty commended Philips for helping Nigerians stay healthy, adding that she way happy to be a part of the initiative.
