Jameson, the renowned Irish whiskey brand under Pernod Ricard, has named Ogilvy its new global creative partner.

Ogilvy emerged winner following a competitive pitch which included longtime incumbent TBWA and Publicis New York.

The selection process was facilitated by R3, a consultancy firm specializing in agency search and selection.

Brendan Buckley, the global marketing director for Irish Distillers Pernod Ricard, as shared by Adweek , expressed satisfaction with the rigorous and comprehensive pitch process. He commended R3 for conducting a demanding evaluation that pushed both Jameson and the participating agencies to thoroughly analyze their objectives and strategies.

Ogilvy’s success with the Jameson pitch adds to its recent string of victories in securing new business. Over the past two years, the agency has built an impressive portfolio, starting with WPP’s collective win of The Coca-Cola Company; since then, Ogilvy has also successfully acquired accounts from renowned brands such as Audi, SC Johnson, H&R Block, and Verizon Business.

Worthy of note, the agency had previously collaborated with Pernod Ricard globally, working on brands like Absolut, Olmeca Altos Tequila, Tequila Avión, and Del Maguey in Pernod Ricard USA.

In a LinkedIn post, Hugo Eyre Varnier, Director of Communications at Ogilvy UK, subtly highlighted the agency’s growing presence and success in the industry as this latest partnership with Jameson further solidifies its position as a leading creative force in the advertising world.

Looking ahead, the collaboration is expected to bring fresh perspectives and innovative approaches to elevate the Jameson’s global marketing efforts.

With a track record of notable achievements and an impressive client portfolio, we believe Ogilvy is well-positioned to provide creative solutions that will further enhance Jameson’s brand presence and strengthen its connection with consumers worldwide.
