MultiChoice Nigeria debuts Ultimate Love, a new Reality TV Show

Come February 2020, Nigerians at home and in the diaspora as well as the global entertainment community, would be treated to a new reality TV show by MultiChoice Nigeria. It is christened ‘Ultimate Love’.

It is a first-of-its-kind reality show which centres on single female and male strangers living together in an isolated location with the hope of finding love. It will broadcast live, 24/7 on all GOtv and DStv select packages.

Announcing the upcoming launch of the show, John Ugbe, CEO of MultiChoice Nigeria, stated that Reality TV shows are popular because they showcase real people in real-life situations, thus connecting with the audiences on a relatable and personal level. He added that MultiChoice was excited to have developed the new reality TV format which further reiterates his company’s position as Africa’s most prominent storyteller.

Giving details of the show, Ugbe explained that the participants would be paired based on their mutual attraction to one another and would compete to emerge as the ultimate couple of the competition.

As Ugbe further explained, the participants would be monitored by live TV cameras and audio microphones as they interact daily with a counselor to be referred to as ‘Auntie’, as they embark on this journey to love, fortune and fame.

According to him, the winning couple would win a lavish traditional wedding ceremony and a fully furnished home, amongst many other prizes.

In the first (2020) season of the show, a total of 16 individuals comprising of eight males and eight females would be chosen through careful screenings and auditions to live together for eight weeks. They would engage in various locally inspired activities as couples with the viewers voting off their least favourite pair at the end of every week.
