MARKETING EDGE donates valuable items to orphanage

It was all joy at Saint Monica’s Orphanage Home, located in the Iju- Ishaga area of Ogun state as MARKETING EDGE, Nigeria’s leading and award winning marketing magazine donated food stuffs and other valuable items to the children at the orphanage today.

The visit by the management team of the prestigious magazine was to identify with the less privileged children and make them feel the warmth of love and care in the spirit of Christmas.

While presenting the products to the orphanage, Chief Operating Officer of the publishing firm, Mr. Amos Oladele said that the gesture, which has become a very significant annual event for his organization, was to touch the lives of the less privileged in the society.

Oladele pointed out that at a time like this, it was necessary for organizations to give back to the society in which they operate; stressing that MARKETING EDGE magazine was only living up to its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) mandate.

He disclosed that his organization was not alone in this patriotic effort but had as its partners such corporate bodies as Nigerian Breweries, Friesland Campina WAMCO, Chi Limited, and Grand Oak Limited, all of which supported MARKETING EDGE with their various children related brands.

Expressing her personal delight and Home’s appreciation to both MARKETING EDGE and the brands for their show of love, representative of Saint Monica’s Orphanage Home, Rev. Sister Christiana Onah said that it was God’s divine intervention and providence that brought the organization at a time like this when most Nigerians shy away from helping the less privileged.

She lamented the neglect and lack of care for the less privileged children demonstrated by governments at all levels, stressing that the recession in the country was also affecting the orphanage.

In her words, “I feel very happy at this gesture coming especially at this time. To us, it is God’s divine providence because the recession in Nigeria is really affecting everybody and it is affecting us here, too, and coping with 30 children at the orphanage has not really been easy”.

“We only depend on what people give to us here and God has been able to help us through various denotations from kind hearted Nigerians. All along, it has not been really easy but God has been faithful. We have 30 children in the orphanage, some are in boarding schools, we pay their school fees, buy books and uniforms for them. This is aside paying staff salaries and other emoluments. Yet, there has not been any form of assistance coming from government; but God has been using people like you to help us”, Onah added.

The MARKETING EDGE team that visited the orphanage was led by the Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Amos Oladele, and with him were General Manager, Marketing, Mr. Anietie Udoh, Senior Marketing and Business Development Executive, Miss Ogechi Odigbo, Graphic Artist, Mrs. Olaniba Oluwaseyi and Senior Correspondent, Mr. Daniel Eteghe.

It would be recalled that last year, the organization visited the Little Saints’ Orphanage home located at Alimosho, a suburb of the Lagos metropolis.
