Marketing Edge Donates To Orphanage
Nigeria’s pacesetting brands and marketing magazine, MARKETING EDGE, has donated food stuffs and several products and items to Little Saints’ Orphanage home in Lagos, as a way of identifying with the less privilege at Christmas while demonstrating avowed commitment to corporate social responsibility.
While handing out the products, which included bags of rice, cartons of milk, packs of fruit juice and other products to the home Chief Operating Officer of the Magazine, Mr. Amos Oladele praised the reputed orphanage for its contribution to the socio-economic development of the society and pledged that the magazine will continue to support the institution.
The delegation was received at the Orphanage’s facility in the Alimosho local government area of the state by Mrs. Tina Odiong, who is the hostel Administrator. Odiong who was excited about the visit thanked MARKETING EDGE for showing love to the orphanage’s children during the Christmas season, adding that such donation will further reassured them that no matter what they face, there are people out there who still love and appreciate them.
The visit by MARKETING EDGE is a tradition that the reputable publishing house has sustained over the years as part of its corporate social responsibility activities and as a way of giving back to the society. Mr. Oladele, while handing over of the items, said that the initiative was a way of appreciating God for sustaining the organization and its staff thus far and to acknowledge and support the great work which the reputable orphanage had been doing.
“As we all know, Christmas is a time when we commemorate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ and as it’s the practice all over the world, it is a season where individuals and organisations show love by giving to neighbours and friends. In this season, we consider that the best kind of giving as encouraged by the Holy Scripture is to the less privileged, that is why we have thought it wise to visit Little Saints’ Orphanage,” Oladele said.
Continuing, he said” we believe that by this token we have been able to put a little smile on the faces of the children in this orphanage and reassure them that though they may have been abandoned by their parents at one point or the other, we will always stand by them and support them in every way that we can. It is equally an expression of our sincere appreciation and support for the good work which this reputable orphanage has been doing over the years.”
The MARKETING EDGE team which also included, AnietieUdoh, General Manager, Marketing, Joseph Ekeng, Assistant Editor and Ogechi Odigbo, Senior Marketing and Business Development Executive later took a tour around the serene facility located in the heart of Alimosho Local Government.
Also on hand to receive the team was the orphanage’s Resident Pastor, Pastor Louis Caleb, who was full of joy at the visit and commended MARKETING EDGE for showing love for the children. Expectedly, he took time out to pray for the organization and showered heavenly blessings on the company and wished her a more prosperous 2016.
Little Saints Orphanage was founded by Rev. Christiana Bamidele George 21 years ago. Since inception the orphanage has rehabilitated hundreds of children including babies. Because of Rev Gorge’s work at the orphanage, adoption of children, which was normally ignored by Nigerians, has become a welcomed practice. And eighty percent of the babies that come into the orphanage are adopted into well-screened families across the nation through the Ministry of Youths & Social Development or Women Affairs in the states.
Rev. Gorge who turned 60 this year, has won numerous awards for her heroic effort and she is currently the President of Association of Orphanages and Homes Operators in Nigeria (ASOHON).
