LASAA rolls out amnesty initiative to ease signage registration with one month window

Prince Fatiu Akiolu,Chief Executive Officer/ Managing Director of the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency, (LASAA) has revealed that the agency has launched its Amnesty Programme (LASAMP), a pre-enforcement roadshow initiative designed to ease registration and payment processes for both new and existing signage owners.

Prince Akiolu disclosed this when he delivered his speech during the second edition of the Industry Dialogue, a stakeholders engagement forum organized by the Advertisers Association of Nigeria, ADVAN.

He said the amnesty period is expected to run from May 15th to June 25th, all applications for signage and payment renewal will be treated as amnesty registrations within the period under review.

This is line with LASAA’s formidable role of keeping pace with the dynamic needs of its community and also as part of its efforts at creating a harmonious and thriving outdoor advertising ecosystem that inspires excellence and fosters community collaboration.

The agency chief said its aim is strategically to provide the platform to address collective challenges, support effective policy implementation and build trust, while advancing the interests of all stakeholders, serving as a catalyst for positive change and sustainable economic growth.

The seasoned professional emphasised the need for all to comply with the signage new regulations. He urged concerned professionals to access the Quick Payment Process helplines poised to assist business owners in navigating the payment process seamlessly.

“The LASAMP campaign focuses on facilitating a fast-track payment process for all business owners, with an emphasis on the importance of compliance and the implications of non-adherence to signage regulations. This initiative particularly targets small and medium business owners who may encounter challenges with recent payment processes.”

In the same vein, the LASAA CEO also commended ADVAN for its dedication to fostering industry excellence, promoting ethical standards, and advancing the collective interests of its members.

He expressed his pleasure to ADVAN for recognizing LASAA’s significant role as a major stakeholder and regulator in outdoor advertising.
