How transformational initiatives are yielding results at UM Nigeria

The transformational initiatives of the management of Universal McCann Nigeria, which are aimed at positioning the agency as a thought leader and a digital first agency, are already yielding positive results.

The agency won 5 awards at the Pitcher Festival of Creativity Week which held virtually and aired on TVC News Lagos recently. This awards were significant, because it was Universal McCann Nigeria’s maiden entry for the awards. The award-winning agency disclosed that the move was part of its transformational initiatives to showcase the great and innovative work the agency is now known for.

Some of the award UM Nigeria won include, the award for its work on E-cart Internet Services Nigeria on Jumia Black Friday campaign and Western Union’s Low Transfer Fee campaign.

The agency won one Gold in the ‘Integrated Campaign category’ and one Silver in the ‘Use of Insights and Strategy’ for its works on Jumia Black Friday campaign. It also won one Silver for its work on Western Union’s Low Transfer Fee campaign in the “Use of Media” subcategory and another Silver for the same campaign for the ‘Use of Data’ subcategory.

In addition, the agency won one Bronze in the Innovation category (Novel & Devices) for its digital tech works for Western Union.

Commenting on this exciting development, Mr. Austin Efienamokwu, CEO, UM Nigeria, congratulated the UM team saying without them, the feat would not have been possible. He also lavished praise on UM Nigeria’s clients for giving the agency the opportunity to be part of building great brands.

The Pitcher Awards is part of activities marking the 2020 Festival of Creativity Week which is a the Pre-Cannes Lions Festival programme of CHINI Production that brings together professionals and students from all spheres of Marketing Communications in West and Central Africa.

This year, Pitcher Awards broadened its scope to include all works created, released or implemented anywhere on the African continent.
