Gulder Ultimate Search 12 ‘Age of Craftmanship’ unveils 18 contestants, N50 Million grand prize

Following an industry-shaking relaunch and unveiling ceremony which held recently at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites Convention Center, popular reality TV series– Gulder Ultimate Search has revealed 18 contestants and N50 Million grand prize for its 12th edition set to kick off in October 2021.

Speaking at the unveiling, Mrs. Sade Morgan, Corporate staff affairs director of Nigerian Breweries Plc said: “We are marking a remarkable milestone for the return of the Gulder Ultimate Search with 20 contestants who have been selected following rigorous regional trials and boot camp experience. Over the last 7 years we put the show on hold, but we received a lot of feedback from our customers and consumers and fans requesting that we bring the show back to the TV screens and that is what we are doing here today. So in the true Nigerian Breweries way, we are here to give our consumers what they deserve and this time around it promises to be even more exciting than before.”

Introduced in 2004 and sponsored by Nigerian Breweries Plc to promote the Gulder Lager Beer, the survivor-themed reality TV series camps contestants in a jungle where they will have to struggle to outwit each other in the harsh terrain as they go in search of an hidden artefact. The competition also requires high intellectual skill and intelligence as contestants will have to decode clues and use maps to identify and trace the location of the artefact. The competition ends and the winner will emerge when a contestant finds the historic item.

Martin Kochl, Supply Chain Director, Nigerian Breweries Plc hinted that this year’s artefact, left to the discovery of the contestants, is something of prized value to the Gulder company.

“We are introducing a new brand essence for the beer left for them to discover,” Martin revealed. “I believe the young men and women who will emerge as finalists on the new season of Gulder Ultimate Search will be inspired as they are left to discover a new purpose as they go into the jungle for what promises to be an exciting reality tv show. Welcome to the Age of Craftsmanship.”

From the initial 20 contestants, 16 were reviewed and selected to enter into the competition, while the remaining 4: Samson Abah, Odudu Otu, Shalom Omoikhudu, and Osasere Ogbanile were subjected audience review and voting to get back on the show. Based on audience votes, Osasere Agbonile  and Odudu Otu will be joining the other contestants for the GUS 12 edition.

The 18 contestants for the Gulder Ultimate Search 12 Age of Craftmanship are: Damola Johnson, Mfon Mikel Esin, Iniabasi Umoren, Samson Onoja Abah, Gerald Odeka, Samuel Ishmael, Tobechukwu Okoye, Emmanuel Nnebe, Jennifer Okorie, Chidimma Okeibe, Omokhafe Bello, Esitima Edem, Godswill Oboh, Olayinka Omoya, Damilola Odedina, Solomon Yankari, Osasere Agbonile, and Odudu Otu.

Nigerian actress, model and TV Presenter, Toke Makinwa  will host this year’s edition of the competition. Before going off air in 2014, the show which ran succesfully for 11 years has been hosted in different states across Nigeria including Edo State, Anambra State, Akwa Ibom State, Enugu, Ondo, Jos, and Lagos State and anchored by veteran Nollywood actors such as Chidi Mokeme and Bob Manuel.
