Fujitsu Takes Nigerians on Imaging Technology

PFU EMEA Limited, a subsidiary of Fujitsu Limited, has taken about 50 Nigerian resellers through a sales and technical training aimed at boosting the market performance of Fujitsu scanner range in the country. The two-day train-the -trainer seminar organised by PFU and Astel was aimed to help increase the technical capacity needed by authorised resellers to repair Fujitsu scanners spread all over Nigeria.
The company, in a statement, also said it had reaffirmed its partnership with Astel Nigeria Limited, its authorised distributor in West and East Africa, to deepen the reach of Fujitsu scanners in Nigeria.
Fujitsu, according to the statement, controls 49 per cent market share in the world’s professional document and imaging market. It said the company had for the past five years been offering professional document image scanners for personal, desktop, work group and high volume production environments in Nigeria.
PFU EMEA said Astel Nigeria would expand the reach of its entire range of professional document scanners, associated software and service add-ons in Nigeria.
“Heralding this, resellers are being offered sales and technical training on the Fujitsu scanner range to help boost their ability to increase their businesses productivity,” the statement said
The Country Manager, PFU EMEA, Mr. Adrian Cafferkey, who spoke on the sidelines of the two-day seminar, reiterated that PFU sells its products and software only through authorised dealers and Astel Nigieria Limited, through its 25 resellers, had proven to be a professional partner for the Nigerian market.
Cafferkey said, “Range of Fujitsu scanners have been sold to clients in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry, government-owned organisations with a strong footprint in the banking sector. Our scanners can be found in over 70 per cent of banks in Nigeria.
“It is very important to ensure that these technical hands acquire the requisite capacity to deal with after-sales issue on Fujitsu scanners.”
