The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Lagos State Council has appreciated the support extended to the Union by Friesland Campina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, makers of Peak milk, calling the donation a “timely gesture”. The leading diary company donated 50 cartons of 12g Sachets of Peak Milk, which was received on behalf of the Union by the treasurer, Mrs. Iyabo Ogunjuyigbe.
A statement from NUJ reads: “We appreciate the gesture of the management of FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc. The donation is timely, especially at this critical period of COVID-19 lockdown and the Ramadan.”
Commenting on the donation, the Chairman of the Union, Dr. Qasim Akinreti said: “The support of the milk company is timely and a demonstration of friendship between the NUJ Lagos and the global milk company. Truly, FrieslandCampina Wamco has shown that a friend in need is a friend indeed.”
He equally thanked the management of the company and prayed for a continued cordial and robust relationship between the two organisations.
