Folake Ani-Mumuney, Wasiu others lead ADVAN new EXCO
The Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Communications and General Manager of First Bank Nigeria Limited, Folake Ani-Mumuney is now the new President of Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN). She emerged President after an election that pitched her against another celebrated female marketing personality, Mrs Bukola Bandele, Marketing Director, PZ Nigeria.
The election was held last Friday at the MUSON Centre in Lagos.
In what looked like a shake-up in the leadership of ADVAN in favour of the ladies, Nkiru Olumide-Ojo Executive Head Corporate Communications Stanbic IBTC also won election into the post of Vice President of the association, while Wasiu Abiola who heads the Media & Digital unit at Nigerian Breweries Plc snapped up the other Vice President position.
Mr. Onome Asagbra, Product Manager, Indomie also took over the Publicity portfolio of the new ADVAN executive.
Speaking to MARKETING EDGE after her election, Folake said she felt honoured by the confidence that has been reposed on her by her colleagues and promised to build upon the foundation that has been laid by the Okeme led executive. She added that with the combined experience of her team at ADVAN and with the support of stakeholders she hopes to take ADVAN to a new heights.
She disclosed that new EXCO will be going on a retreat shortly to articulate and evaluate the priorities of the new the new ADVAN. But she has already drawn up a five point agenda that will become the strategy of her executive and it is centered around making ADVAN more relevant to the marketing communications profession in Nigeria.
Folake is an accomplished business strategist, resourceful corporate communicator, award winning marketing communications professional and highly networked media manager. She holds a BA degree in philosophy from University of Lagos and later attended University of Birmingham between where she grabbed LLB in Law.
She has several years of valuable experience, having worked before now as, Manager, African Operations at British Airways, Group Head, Corporate Affairs and Marketing Communications at Dangote Group before her present engagement with First Bank of Nigeria.
