FG set to lift ban on Twitter

Ban on microblogging platform, Twitter, will soon be lifted following its decision to set up an office in Nigeria as part of agreements reached with the Federal Government to rescind on its action.

Minister for Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed disclosed this while fielding questions from journalists after the Federal Executive Council meeting presided over by Vice president, Yemi Osinbajo.

The minister said the possible lifting of the suspension is sequel to agreement reached between the organisation and the Federal Government on contentious issues, noting that the blogging company has complied with most of the conditions given to it for suspension to be lifted.

The Minister also said there are pending issues with the setting up of an office in Nigeria as Twitter says the earliest it could establish it is 2022.
