Cannes Lions unveils the Young Lions Live Awards, calls for entries

In partnership with WWF and Unruly, Cannes Lions has launched the Young Lions Live Awards, a global challenge for the next generation of creatives aged between 18 and 30.

Cannes announced: “If you want to test your creative skills against your peers, answer a brief set by a Global NGO and get your work judged by the best of the best in the industry then the Young Lions Live Award is for you.”

“We are proud to be working with WWF, our Young Lions Live Award March partner. WWF is one of the world’s leading conservation organizations, working for 60 years in nearly 100 countries to help people and nature thrive.”

The challenge is open to students, brand marketers, coders, artists, and anyone working as a creative in an agency, and open to individuals or teams of two with the chance to win a 1-year access Love The Work, and a 1-year LIONS Membership.

“All of us need love to thrive, and nature is no different. Human activities have put the natural world at risk, and now is the time for us to make a difference.”

“The environment faces many critical challenges, and we on Earth are in a crisis moment. Time is running out to protect the valuable natural resources that we rely on to stay safe, healthy, and thriving. We need people to care and take action to help us turn things around,” Cannes added.

According to Cannes, entrants should have the requisite rights and licenses to use any third party content included in the entry, and a 500-word description which includes detailed creative idea or insight, description of the strategy, target audience, planning and approach, explanation of implementation, integration, timeline, and scale. All entries should be submitted before 19th March, 2021.
