Another 5 Alive variant launched

Fifteen years after the first pack of 5Alive beverage rolled out of the factory, the Nigerian Bottling Company has again launched another variant of the produce to complement an already successful brand and further widen the range of Five Alive juice available to Nigerian beverage consumers.

The new 5Alive Pulpy Orange fruit drink has expanded the brand to six variants and according to its manufacturers, NBC, it is a unique product with no fizz or added preservatives and it is a reflection of the company’s avowed commitment to expand the beverage choices it offer to consumers.

Speaking at the Lagos launch, Mr. Adeola Adetunji, Managing Director, Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited noted that since the launch of 5Alive one and half decades ago, it has recorded remarkable success and now commands a large portion of market segment share in the fruit drink sector.

Adetunji also noted that the new brand represents the company’s unquenchable quest for exciting new prospect that will deepen costumers’ satisfaction and meet their yearning for new beverage experiences. “First, 5Alive Pulpy Orange fruit drink represents the leading innovation for which The Coca-Cola Company is renowned globally as well as a game changer for the juice business in Nigeria.”

The other five that are already doing well in the market are Citrus Burst, Berry Blast, Apple, Pineapple Punch, Cocopine and Orange, also very instructive was the fact that the launch of 5Alive Pulpy in Nigeria signaled a new beginning NBC’s engagement of local content in its business in Nigeria. While speaking about the new product, Adetunji disclosed to the delight of his audience that the juice was made by oranges sourced from Nigerian farms.

“This represents a breakthrough in our longstanding commitment to develop local supplier capacity for our juice concentrates, “Adetunji said.

Continuing he said,”Over the past couple of years; we have worked extensively to support Nigeria’s leading fruit processor, Teragro Limited, to gain The Coca-Cola Company’s ingredient supplier certification.
