Afrinolly targets Pan African markets, set to feature at IATF continental fiesta
Foremost Nigerian Media Technology outfit, Afrinolly Creative Hub has disclosed it would be featuring at the year 2020 maiden edition of the Intra Africa Trade Fair Show and exhibition slated to take place in the month of September in Kigali, Rwanda’s capital city.
The Lagos based one-stop creative house, which recently emerged technical partners to telecoms giant MTN’s Y’ello Star music talent show, stated that it hoped to leverage the music talent show platform with a view to expanding upon its business operations, and ultimately transforming fully into a Pan African organisation before the end of the current business year, 2020.
The cross continental trade fiesta is being put together by the Africa Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) in conjunction with Invest Africa and will expectedly attract over 5000 participants cutting across 55 countries and over 1,100 exhibitors in attendance.
Speaking recently during an exclusive interview with MARKETING EDGE in Lagos, the Managing Director/CEO, Afrinolly Creative Hubs, Chike Maduegbuna said the company’s objective of showcasing at the continental fair was informed by the need to positively project the organisation’s offerings to the world, and thereby establish the fact that Nigeria has created a model that can work.
He added that by deploying the platform of the continental trade show, the company hoped to further project its Pan African objectives which it aims to accomplish before the end of the current year.
“It may sound crazy, we plan to go pan Africa before this year runs out, because we have a good leverage. We are executing the Y’ello Stars between now and end of June, July and by September we should be actively participating in the IATF, (Intra Africa Trade Fair Show) that is being put together by the Afrexim bank.
“We want to showcase what we are doing here at that fair; to show that yes, Nigeria has created a model that can work, and based on that we want to use it as a plank to lunch our Pan African objectives. So, in real terms it’s one long integrated year for us,” he said.
According to the creative industry veteran, the Intra-African Trade Fair would widen networks and introduce new trading partners for businesses and government buyers and sellers from across Africa and beyond, enabling them to tap into new markets in multiple regions.
He noted that the IATF continental fair would be the key event boosting trade in Africa, adding that the theme for this year’s maiden edition would focus on the newly launched African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA), a single market for goods and services across 55 countries aimed at boosting trade and investments.
“The Intra-African Trade Fair would provide a platform for entry into a single market of over one billion people joined together by the African Continental Free Trade,” he stated.
The intra-African Trade Fair and exhibition is first of its kind to hold in Africa, consisting of a 7-day trade show that provides a platform for sharing trade, investment and market information to enable buyers and sellers, investors and countries to meet, discuss and conclude business deals.
On what other international business engagements the company is focusing on going forward, the company boss said; “I’m a patient guy; I move step by step methodically. These two activities from now to September are the major plans we have this year, and they are actually big. If we successfully execute them, the international community would know.
“The thing about the international community is that you don’t look for them, they look for you. I have always felt for the global market. It’s all about you establishing what you are doing, your identity and value proposition and then start from home,” he said.
“I have never seen an international market that appropriates a commodity more than the local market. I love the fact that we signed the African Free Trade Agreement. Basically, Africa is one. I’m here now; but, as I’m sitting down here, am eager to set up in another location. In fact, I’m under pressure to set up in Kigali, and you know the funny thing? It will take only six hours,” he concluded.
