AAAN harps on patriotism ahead of Saturday polls

The Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, AAAN, has urged Nigerians to shun all political, religious or ethnic sentiments and vote wisely in the interest of national development as the country is set to witness one of the most important events in its political history.
The Association made this call on its official Instagram page yesterday as Nigerians gear up to vote the next democratically elected President and Representatives tomorrow.
Steve Babaeko, President, AAAN, delivered a message which appeared to be a clarion call to all Nigerians to determine the future of the great country through unbiased voting void of any political, religious and ethnic influence.
He said: ” As we approach the upcoming election, I urge you to vote wisely and not let your decision be clouded by ethnic, partisan or religious sentiments. This is a crucial time for our great nation and we need to elect someone who has the competence to rebuild and stir us towards the path of progress.
“This election is probably the most important in our lifetime and the choice we make would have a significant impact on the future of our country therefore it is imperative that we vote for someone who has the track record of competence; someone who can address the pressing issues of security, economic growth and social welfare; someone who is committed to serving the great people of Nigeria.
“Fellow countrymen and women, together we can rebuild Nigeria and make it the prosperous and peaceful country we all dream of. God bless you and God bless the Republic of the Federal Republic of Nigeria”.
Nigeria all over are set to exercise their franchise tomorrow to elect the next President and Representatives of the National Assembly. The leading candidates jostling for the number one seat are Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressive Party, APC; Peter Obi of the Labour Party, LP, and Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
According to the The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, there are 93,469,008 registered voters and 176,846 polling units. It added that the youth population top the number of registered voters at 43million.
