Diageo gets Dow Jones World Sustainability Index 2020 Recognition for the 3rd year in a role
Based on the annual global assessment of selected companies conducted by S&P Dow Jones Indices and SAM, Diageo, world-renowned beverage alcohol brand, makers of Johnnie Walker, Cîroc, Baileys, Guinness, was ranked in one of the most prestigious environmental, social and governance (ESG) for the third year in a role.
President, Global Supply and Procurement & Chief Sustainability Officer of Diageo, Ewan Andrew, expressed his delight concerning Diageo’s ranking in the index, commended members of staff and all involving parties for their respective roles and indicated that sustainability is an essential part of their day to day activity
“In a year when everyone has had to come together to find new sustainable ways in which to operate in, I am delighted that Diageo has once again been recognised by such a prestigious index. I am grateful to all our employees, partners and community projects who have helped us to retain our position.
“It shows that sustainability runs throughout the entire company, from the grain of barley that is harvested right through to the glass that serves the finest Scotch,” he stated.
Brand Management, strategy for emerging markets, environmental reporting, operational eco-efficiency, water related risks, social reporting and human capital development are areas Diageo scored high in the assessment.
