Coca-Cola Nigeria employees donate food items to vulnerable families in Lagos amid Covid-19 crisis
To cushion the adverse economic effect of the coronavirus crisis on Nigerians, employees of Coca-Cola Nigeria have distributed food items to support hundreds of vulnerable residents of Yaba, a suburb in Lagos, the commercial centre of Nigeria. The food distribution was done in partnership with WhiteField Foundation, through an associate volunteer program tagged “CokeCARES”.
Commenting on the philanthropic gesture, Yabeltal Getachew, Managing Director, Coca-Cola Nigeria Ltd, said: “Last Friday, as part of celebrating The Coca-Cola Company’s 134 years anniversary, employees of Coca-Cola Nigeria, through an associate volunteer program tagged “CokeCARES”, distributed food items to support hundreds of vulnerable families and communities amidst the Covid-19 pandemic.
“This outreach was done in partnership with WhiteField Foundation in a low income suburb of Lagos metropolis called Yaba . We are proud of our employees who constantly seek ways to make a difference in our communities – very proud of our team!”
