Victor Oritedi exits Flour Mills as Sales Head

Victor Oritedi, Head of Sales at Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc, has announced his exit from the organisation after a near three years meritorious service to the organisation.

Oritedi whose service foray in the company began in October 2018 when he signed on as Head of Sales (Agri-Inputs) was saddled with the responsibility of developing the backward integration strategy of the FMN Group using the Contract Farming and Extension Services business models as well as developing a business model that will enable direct purchase from farmers and farmer markets at a minimum of 10% less Merchant prices.

Announcing his exit via a Linkedin post, Oritedi stated that his decision was informed by the desire to move on and advance to next stage of challenges in his chosen career.

The statement reads: “It’s time for me to move to the next challenge. I look back to the almost 3 years spent at The FMN Group and I feel proud. I hold dear the relationship and friendship I’ve built within the period. I have made great friends, met with good people and ultimately made giant strides towards the growth of my career.

“I want to thank my team members and other cross-functional units/departments I worked with. I wish you all the best in your endeavours. As I look forward to the next phase of my career, I will take the learning from Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc with me and hope it makes me a better person and manager.”

While working in the organisation, Oritedi was responsible for Sales of agricultural inputs, notably including fertilizers, seeds and CCPs (Center for Chemical Process Safety) into the Nigerian market, deploying the B2B (Business to Business) and B2C sales market routes.

Part of his portfolio included among other things, strengthening the existing sales and distribution channels, managing sales activities of 8 Area Sales Managers across the country and positioning FMN and other partnership brands as inputs of choice to all stakeholders in the industry.

Additionally, his service portfolio included expanding the company’s market share through enforcing sound relationship management with existing and potential business partners, and to facilitate increase in market share by tapping into the wallet of competitors.

Also, he was involved in the planning and implementing sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long range, targeted toward existing and new markets.

An alumnus of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where he bagged a Master Degree in International Relations and Affairs, Oritedi also holds an MBA Degree (Business Administration and Management, General) from the University of Wolverhampton as well as the Westford University College Diploma in International Business.

He is a member of several professional bodies, including the Institute of Information and Strategic Management (IISM), Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership, CIML, USA, and the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).
