Lagos-based media strategy and planning agency supports PRADWAVE 5.0, expanding student access to mentorship, industry exposure and real-world marketing problem-solving.

Plus Acuity Nigeria Ltd., a Lagos-based media strategy, planning and buying agency, has strengthened its commitment to developing the next generation of marketing communications talent through a strategic partnership with the University of Lagos Public Relations and Advertising Club for PRADWAVE 5.0.

The student-led competition brought together undergraduates across public relations, advertising, marketing and mass communication, challenging them to develop practical media and marketing solutions for real business problems. The competition opened with 40 participating teams, with five teams progressing to the finale and three emerging as prize winners.

Beyond providing financial support and cash prizes, Plus Acuity helped expand the platform’s industry relevance by securing brand partnerships with Lush Hair and Indomie, exposure on select radio stations creating broader visibility for the initiative and connecting students with Nigeria’s marketing and communications ecosystem.

As part of the collaboration, Plus Acuity is adopting the club into a longer-term talent development pathway designed to offer mentorship, internship exposure and practical learning opportunities with agencies, media organisations and client-side marketing teams. The initiative reflects the agency’s broader ambition to bridge the gap between academic learning and the demands of the modern marketing industry.

Victor Oyarero, Managing Director of Plus Acuity Nigeria Ltd., delivered a keynote session at PRADWAVE 5.0, sharing insights from almost three decades of experience in media communications. He encouraged students to remain curious, embrace continuous learning and build the practical capabilities required to thrive in a fast-changing industry.

“The best way to predict the future is to build it. At Plus Acuity, we believe the future of our industry is bright, and we are committed to playing our part in building the next pipeline of talent that will take the work to the next level,” said Victor Oyarero, Managing Director, Plus Acuity Nigeria Ltd.

The club also appointed the Business Unit Director of Plus Acuity – Emmanuel Adediran as Patron of the club.

Speaking on behalf of the UNILAG PRAD Club, Success Essien, General Secretary said: “We are grateful for the trust Plus Acuity placed in us and for contributing to an experience that inspired, educated and connected students with industry professionals. We truly appreciate their investment in student development.”

The partnership marks the beginning of a wider engagement agenda by Plus Acuity to collaborate with universities, support next-generation marketing conversations and create more access points for young professionals entering the communications industry. The agency said it will continue to build platforms that empower students, educate the public on next-generation marketing and prepare future marketers for the realities of the industry.
