The Olasode family of Gbagura, Abeokuta, Ogun State, will on Saturday, May 2, 2026, mark the 10th year remembrance and Fidau prayer of the late Alhaji Kehinde Soliu Olasode, Co-Founding Chairman and Pioneering Managing Director of Abiok Publicity Limited, one of Nigeria’s oldest out-of-home advertising agencies.

The event, scheduled for 12:00 noon at 2/4 Adegbite Street, Off Sule Street, Mongoro, Agege, Lagos, will bring together family members, friends, business associates, and members of the advertising community to honour the memory of the late advertising pioneer who passed away on May 2, 2016, at the age of 69.

Alhaji Olasode, born August 11, 1946, co-founded Abiok Publicity Limited with Alhaji Jimoh Atanda Lawal, establishing one of the pioneering outdoor advertising companies that helped shape Nigeria’s advertising landscape. The company, now over 50 years old, remains one of the longest-serving billboard advertising firms in Lagos and is registered with the Outdoor Advertising Association of Nigeria (OAAN).

As Pioneering Managing Director, Alhaji Olasode was instrumental in building Abiok Publicity into a reputable brand during an era when Nigeria’s outdoor advertising industry was still in its formative stages. The company’s legacy endures, with its name still featuring prominently in Lagos’ outdoor advertising space, including a street named after the company in Ojokoro Local Council Development Area.

The 10-year remembrance comes just months after the advertising industry mourned the loss of Alhaji Olasode’s business partner and co-founder, Alhaji Jimoh Atanda Lawal, who passed away in February 2026 at age 83. With the exit of both pioneers, the advertising community has lost two foundational pillars who built Nigeria’s out-of-home advertising sector from scratch over five decades ago.

The family has extended a cordial invitation to all well-wishers, business associates, and members of the advertising fraternity to join them in remembering the life and legacy of Alhaji Kehinde Soliu Olasode.
