Mark Fitzloff, founder of Portland-based creative agency Opinionated, has been fired by Tombras.
According to Ad Age, the termination comes just over one month after Tombras acquired Opinionated in a deal announced on 20 January 2026.
At the time of the acquisition, Tombras retained Fitzloff to lead the 40-person agency as founder and executive creative director, while the company operated Opinionated as “Opinionated, a Tombras Company” throughout 2026 before transitioning it to Tombras West in 2027.

Fitzloff founded Opinionated in 2017 after spending a decade as a partner and senior creative at Wieden & Kennedy in Portland. Under his leadership, the agency gained recognition for creative work with major brands including Adidas, Panda Express, Hinge, Dick’s Sporting Goods and Drumstick.
Tombras positioned the acquisition as a strategic alignment between Opinionated’s creative pedigree and its data-driven capabilities.
At the time, Tombras president Dooley Tombras called Fitzloff “a legend in the industry” whose work he had “admired from afar for years.”
Fitzloff had publicly stated the sale represented an opportunity to scale whilst remaining independent, rather than selling to a holding company or private equity firm.
