SCB Group, Winters strengthen economic tie during engagement tour

Standard Chartered Bank Group CEO, Bill Winters, has concluded a transformative three-day engagement tour in Nigeria. The visit underscored the bank’s commitment to the country and its economic development.
Disclosing the details of his activities in a post on LinkedIn, Dalu Eneje, the Bank’s CEO in Nigeria explained that Winters’ visit was filled with high-level meetings and strategic discussions which marked a significant step in strengthening the bank’s ties with Nigeria, a market of growing importance.
Bill Winters, who first visited Nigeria in 1989, witnessed the substantial changes the country has undergone over the years.
His tour included key engagements with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, regulatory bodies, government agencies, clients, colleagues, and partners.
Each meeting was said to have reinforced the bank’s dedication to fostering a business-friendly environment and supporting Nigeria’s economic growth.
During the discussions with President Tinubu and his executive council, Eneje noted that a strong message of appreciation for Standard Chartered’s partnership was conveyed.
Similarly, the Nigerian government was said to have expressed its eagerness to deepen the relationship through various advocacy and investment initiatives.
According to Eneje, the endorsement has further bolstered SCB’s resolve to continue contributing to Nigeria’s development.
