CBN appoints seasoned PR professional, Hakama Sidi Ali as Acting Director of Corporate Communications
The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has designated Mrs. Hakama Sidi Ali, a seasoned Public Relations professional and recognized member of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), as its Acting Director of Corporate Communications.
Mrs. Ali, who previously served as Deputy Director in the same Department at the Bank, now assumes the role of the official spokesperson, taking over from Dr. Abdulmumini Isa. Although the bank has not officially announced the appointment, Mrs. Ali has already signed off on the latest press releases from the Apex Bank.
The appointment aligns with the NIPR’s ongoing campaign to discourage government agencies, individuals, and corporate organizations from appointing non-professionals and quacks as official spokespersons. Mrs. Ali, a 1992 graduate of Bayero University, Kano (BUK) with a degree in Mass Communication, holds an MSc in Mass Communication and a PGDE in English Language.
Beyond her NIPR membership, Mrs. Ali is affiliated with reputable professional bodies such as the Chartered Institute of Loan and Risk Management (CILRM), Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria (CIPMN), Africa Development Studies Centre (ADSC), Toastmasters International, among others.
