Top agencies set tone for creativity in Africa
In keeping with its strong focus on rewarding excellence in brand communications across Africa and the Middle East, the Loeries has introduced a Regional Agency Group table in Official Rankings. The table gives a view of the top group networks and provides a benchmark for excellence in the region.
Ogilvy EMEA took the number one spot as the top agency network in the region. BBDO MEA and TBWA\RAAD followed in second and third place respectively. With J. Walter Thompson MEA, FCB Africa, Joe Public United, DDB, Mullen Lowe, Y&R Africa and Cheil Network making up the remaining top 10 on the Regional Agency Group table.
Agencies from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) shone in rankings with TBWA\RAAD as the number one agency in region-specific table, which excludes South African agencies. Memac Ogilvy Dubai took third place, and FP7/DXB in fifth and Cheil Worldwide – Dubai came in 6th.
J. Walter Thompson took 4 spots in the ranking by agency table, with Saudi Arabia in 2nd place, Beirut (Lebanon) in fourth, Dubai (UAE) in 7th and Cairo (Egypt) in 11th.
Nigeria’s Noah’s Ark Communications featured in ninth, while Namibia’s Advantage Y&R ranked in a tied 13th with Israel’s Baumann Ber Rivnay/ Saatchi & Saatchi and Kenya’s Squad Digital rounding off the top 15.
The top regional agency, TBWA\RAAD, scooped an impressive 7 Loeries, including two Gold awards for Go Sport’s “Champions Hijack” in the Digital and Interactive as well as the Print category.
Noah’s Ark Communications received three Loeries, comprising of two Bronze awards and a Campaign Silver in the Print category for Boko Halal’s “Project Shoes”.
Advantage Y&R won a Silver in the Live Events, Activations and Sponsorship for City of Windhoek’s the impactful #DontWashMeNAM water saving event. Squad Digital took Bronze in the Service Design category for developing widgets for Safaricom Limited’s corporate widgets.
Entry for Loeries 2017 opens in February 2017. Work flighted for the first time between June 1, 2016 to May 31, 2017 is eligible for entry.
