Unilever Nigeria appoints new MD/CEO
In a bid to gradually shatter the subtle but damaging form of discrimination where women cannot attain the opportunities they see in front of them, Unilever Nigeria Plc has appointed Adesola Sotande-Peters as its acting Managing Director. The appointment came on the heels of the exit of Yaw Nsarkoh, the former MD who was allegedly asked to resign.
Prior to her new appointment, Mrs. Sotande-Peters was the Finance Director of the Company between 2014 up until then.
She had her college education at Friends School, Saffron Walden, Essex (1991-1992) passing out with ‘A’ Levels Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, General Studies. From 1992-1995 she was at The American International University in London, graduating with a BA Business Administration & Economics, Grade Point Average 3.0.
In 2000, Mrs. Sotande-Peters became a member, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, A.C.C.A. Member. (First Time Passes) and in 2006 she became a fellow, Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, A.C.C.A. She also became a member, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) in 2007 and in 2008 she obtained MBA for Finance Professionals from Manchester Business School, Manchester, United Kingdom.
Some of the organisations that Mrs. Sotande-Peters has worked in include but are not limited to Sakura Bank, London, Peter Osalor & Co, BBC Resources Limited, Informa Group, Llyod’s Maritime Information System, Openwave Systems (Europe) Ltd, and Guinness Nigeria Plc.
Mrs. Sotade-Peters is a Finance professional with more than eighteen years of experience in FMCG, telecoms, corporate finance and investor relations. She is an analytical and logical thinker with a strong background in multinational financial arenas.
