Unilever Nigeria announces new Independent Non-Executive Director
Board of Directors of Unilever Nigeria Plc has announced the appointment of a former CEO of MTN Nigeria, Michael Ikpoki, as an Independent non-Executive Director of Unilever Nigeria Plc.
This was made known in a statement sent to the floor of the Nigerian Stock Exchange on Monday which partly reads: “This is to notify The Nigerian Stock Exchange and our esteemed shareholders of the appointment of Mr. Michael Ikpoki as an Independent non-Executive Director of Unilever Nigeria Plc. with effect from 1 February, 2021.”
Ikpoki, a lawyer by training, has worked with many multinational organizations with over twenty-four years of relevant African Telecommunications Industry Experience comprising of public sector experience in the country’s national telecommunications regulatory authority (Nigerian Communications Commission), business management experience in the MTN Group and telecommunications/ICT Advisory and Consulting experience in Africa.
As highly experienced telco personnel, he has been reported successfully managed MTN Ghana and MTN Nigeria as CEO between 2011 and 2015.
