Sanwo-Olu, Abiodun extol Unilever for meeting daily needs of Nigerians for 100 years

The Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu and his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun, have extolled Unilever Nigeria for living up to its purpose-driven vision by making sustainable living commonplace for all. They applauded the multinational giant for acting on the social and environmental issues by enhancing people’s lives with its products.
The Lagos and Ogun States governors commended the leading global company for its contributions to the development of education and the environment in the last 100 years.
The made the statement during Unilever’s centenary anniversary commemoration held in Lagos, recently.
Lagos State Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives, Trade, and Investment, Folasade Ambrose-Medebem, who represented the governor, said: “Unilever’s century-long journey is not just a testament to corporate excellence, but also a legacy of impact.”
Governor Abiodun, on his part, praised the company for its dedication to social responsibility initiatives, such as educational programmes and environmental sustainability projects aimed at improving the health of the planet and wellbeing of the people, thereby contributing to a fairer, more socially inclusive world.
“The presence of Unilever Nigeria has spurred socio-economic development in Ogun State, which has its largest factory in Nigeria. Through its operations, the company is enhancing the local capabilities of our people with the right skills to add value to themselves and the country. We will continue to foster and improve the ease of doing business in our state to spur more developments by manufacturers like Unilever Nigeria,” he said.
