Publicis Groupe has revealed its selection of Loris Nold, the present CEO of its Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) operations, as the global Chief Financial Officer starting from February 2024.

Nold will assume this pivotal role, succeeding Michel-Alain Proch, who will step down in February after the release of the 2023 Full Year financial results. Proch will ensure a seamless transition before embarking on a new journey outside the company.

Nold’s appointment is anticipated to bolster the group’s financial division by leveraging his comprehensive financial proficiency, operational insights, and client-oriented understanding.

This strategic move aims to strengthen the existing finance team renowned for delivering exceptional financial performance for over two decades.

Beginning his career as an investment banker in New York and London, Nold joined Publicis Groupe in 2003. He initially oversaw Mergers & Acquisitions, later assuming responsibilities in Business Improvement. Throughout his tenure, Nold progressed into operational leadership roles and managed P&L for several of the group’s key global operations.

Notably, as CEO of Publicis APAC, he spearheaded a transformative phase, introducing the country model and significantly enhancing performance in the region. More recently, as CEO of EMEA, Nold established a robust regional infrastructure, attracting top-tier industry talent and achieving robust financial outcomes.

Following Nold’s transition to the global CFO position, Demet Ikiler, presently the COO of the EMEA region, will assume the role of EMEA CEO from February 2024. The global hubs of France and the UK will directly report to Arthur Sadoun, Chairman & CEO of Publicis Groupe, similar to the U.S. operations.

Arthur Sadoun commented on the announcement, stating, “Loris is an extraordinary leader with a unique combination of operational prowess, extensive knowledge of our capabilities and geographies, and a solid financial background. His instrumental role in Publicis’ transformation makes him an invaluable addition to our global finance teams. I extend my gratitude to Michel-Alain for his contributions and wish him well in his future endeavors. Additionally, Demet’s elevation to EMEA CEO is a natural progression, considering her extensive experience. Together with our regional managers, she will continue to drive excellence across our data, creative, media, and technology assets, in line with our vision.”

The transition marks a strategic move aimed at maintaining Publicis Groupe’s growth trajectory and fortifying its position as a leader in the industry’s financial landscape.
