Orijin celebrates Afro-centric artistry at the Artmiabo International Art Festival 2024

Deeply rooted artistry took center stage at EbonyLife Place from April 29th to May 1st as Orijin, the premier alcoholic blend of African herbs and fruits, joined hands with the Artmiabo International Art Festival (AMIAF) 2024 for an unforgettable experience.

This three-day extravaganza, themed “Sculptor’s Odyssey,” celebrated the boundless creativity of sculptors while embracing the richness of Afro-centric storytelling and environmental consciousness.

As a brand deeply committed to empowering and celebrating lives inspired by vibrant African roots, Orijin left an indelible mark on festival-goers. Attendees were treated to delicious serves of orijinal cocktails and the iconic Orijin classic, alongside messages of moderation through the Orijin Augmented Reality Moderation Hope Board, as well as unmissable signages on the staircase leading to the exhibition area. This innovative approach aimed to promote responsible drinking, reinforcing the message that “Beer is more refreshing when savored moderately.”

Adding to the immersive experience, Orijin showcased a mini photo exhibition featuring stunning photographs of its murals across the country, celebrating Nigeria’s diverse cultural landscape. Festival-goers were mesmerized by the soulful tunes of Made Kuti and Jikume Bethlehem, who provided the perfect soundtrack for the three-day festivities.

Miabo Enyadike, the founder of the Artmiabo International Art Festival, expressed her gratitude, stating, “This festival is a celebration of art in its purest form—a journey of creativity and self-expression. We are thrilled to have Orijin as a partner, enriching the experience with their unique blend of culture and innovation.”

The highlight of the event was the posthumous award presented to Professor Ben Enwonwu, the Pioneer Pan African Artist, in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the art world.

Roland Akpe remarking on the rationale for sponsoring the award said “At Orijin, we believe that taking a huge source of pride in self, as Nigerians, built on the strength of our heritage and moving forward with that confidence and letting it be our compass to take our rightful place in the world is the way for us as Africans. Our heroes, like Ben Enwuonwu, through their remarkable achievements and strides inspire us to step into the future with our identity on our sleeves and the self-assurance of knowing who we are as we dominante new horizons.

The festival attracted prominent figures in the art community, including Professor Bruce Onobrakpeya, Sir Pius Waritimi, Dr. Adeola Balogun, award-winning International Environmental Sculptor, Dotun Popoola, and Adebisi Adebayo. Additionally, young talents from institutions like Auchi Polytechnic, YabaTech, and OAU showcased their creativity, underscoring Orijin’s commitment to nurturing emerging artists.
