My over 20yrs in PR consulting is finally recognised by MARKETING EDGE Hall of Fame – John Ehiguese

MARKETING EDGE, the foremost advertising and brand magazine, has inducted John Ehiguese, a Public Relations veteran into the maiden edition of its Hall of Fame recently held in Lagos. The MARKETING EDGE Hall of Fame induction gathered high profile practitioners, titans, gurus, and veterans of the marketing communication community at Radisson Hotel, Ikeja Lagos.
While bestowing the honour upon him, the PR veteran stated that his two decades of PR practice has finally paid off as MARKETING EDGE paid homage to him at the maiden edition of its Hall of Fame.
He said: “I feel elated and excited that the twenty years plus that I have put in PR consulting is finally being recognised by such an organisation like MARKETING EDGE. It’s a wonderful feeling; I am grateful.”
When asked how he feels being among the trailblazers and founding fathers of advertising who were honoured, he said: “Well, like you said, it’s a wonderful feeling to be among this set of people to be counted in their class.”
“MARKETING EDGE is always at the forefront of innovations, as it always comes up with new ideas. That is what keeps you going and I am quite excited about that. I just want to ask that you keep it up; it is a way to go,” he added.
Mr. Ehiguese is one of the leading lights in the Public Relations ecosystem in Nigeria and a two-time President of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), and a Board Member of the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO). He is also the Founder/ CEO of Mediacraft Associates, one of Nigeria’s leading Public Relations consultancy firms, and the exclusive Nigeria affiliate of the FleishmanHillard global PR network.
Mr. Ehiguese established Mediacraft in September 2003. Before then, he worked as an Account Director at C&F Porter Novelli (Nigeria), with direct responsibility for coordinating PR support for the market roll-out of MTN, Nigeria’s largest telecoms network.
In a career spanning over thirty years, he has garnered extensive cross-functional experience in Marketing, Broadcasting, Advertising and Public Relations.
Under his supervision, Mediacraft Associates has worked with several high-profile clients, including Mastercard, Western Union, Diamond Bank, ExxonMobil, AVON HMO and Nigerian Breweries Plc (a Heineken company), Stanbic IBTC Group, Interswitch, USSEC, Interswitch Group, Olam Group and Truecaller.
Mr. Ehiguese holds an MBA from the Lagos Business School of the Pan Atlantic University, Lagos (2004). He is also an alumnus of the IESE Business School, University of Navarra, Barcelona, Spain and the University of Central Lancashire, Preston, UK.
He is a member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), The Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria (APCON), the PRCA (UK) and a Board Member of the International Communications Consultancy Organisation (ICCO).
The PR guru is a former President of the Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN), the umbrella body of practicing PR consultancy firms in Nigeria.
