MARKETING EDGE ONTV is set to feature one of Nigeria’s most respected creative advertising leaders, Kelechi Nwosu, as the guest on the Industry Conversation segment of this week’s programme, where he will share insights from a career that has helped redefine Nigeria’s advertising and marketing communications landscape.
The broadcast, scheduled for Wednesday, will see the former Chief Executive Officer of TBWA\Concept and former President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria (AAAN) reflect on his remarkable leadership journey, the evolution of creativity, succession in business leadership and the future of integrated marketing communications in Nigeria.
With more than three decades of experience in advertising, strategic brand management and integrated marketing communications, Nwosu has established himself as one of the industry’s most influential creative thinkers.
Over the years, he has played a defining role in shaping some of Nigeria’s most recognisable brands while mentoring generations of advertising professionals who now occupy leadership positions across the communications ecosystem.
His career has been characterised by innovation, bold strategic thinking and an unwavering commitment to raising professional standards within Nigeria’s advertising industry.
As Chief Executive Officer of TBWA\Concept, he spearheaded the agency’s transformation into one of Nigeria’s foremost creative powerhouses, leading multidisciplinary teams that consistently delivered award winning campaigns for both multinational and indigenous brands. Under his stewardship, the agency became widely recognised for combining disruptive creativity with business effectiveness, helping clients build stronger brand equity and deeper consumer connections in an increasingly competitive marketplace.
Beyond agency leadership, Nwosu equally distinguished himself through industry service. During his tenure as President of the Association of Advertising Agencies of Nigeria, he championed stronger collaboration among stakeholders, promoted ethical practice, encouraged creative excellence and contributed significantly to advancing the country’s marketing communications profession. His leadership also strengthened the association’s role in navigating industry reforms and emerging business realities.
His professional accomplishments include overseeing several landmark campaigns that reshaped Nigeria’s advertising landscape, notably the successful market rollout of MTN, as well as the launches of Virgin Atlantic and Virgin Nigeria.
He also led celebrated campaigns such as Spirit of Lagos and Proudly Made in Aba, projects that demonstrated the power of creativity in driving national pride, economic development and brand differentiation.
Furthermore, Nwosu has remained a strong advocate for strategic public relations, consistently emphasising its growing importance in reputation management, stakeholder engagement and business leadership. He has repeatedly encouraged organisations to embrace public relations not merely as a publicity function but as a strategic management discipline capable of shaping corporate direction and building sustainable trust.
Equally, the veteran advertising executive will explain why George Isitua-Onukwu emerged as the right successor to lead the agency into its next phase of growth, while also revisiting some of the landmark campaigns executed under his leadership, including the iconic Spirit of Lagos and Proudly Made in Aba initiatives.
Notably, Nwosu’s appearance comes barely a year after MARKETING EDGE honoured him with its 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award in Creative Advertising, recognising his decades of exceptional contributions to creativity, brand building, industry leadership and talent development.
Meanwhile, the programme will continue to deliver compelling industry updates through its regular Brand News and Brand in Focus segments, alongside the exclusive Industry Conversation with one of Nigeria’s most influential creative minds.
