MARKETING EDGE on TV hosts Alakwe this Wednesday

Foremost brand-centric and marketing and advertising television program, MARKETING EDGE on TV will be hosting Nsima Ogedi Alakwe, an astute marketing professional who has honed her skills through decades of experience working in the Fast Moving Consumer Goods FMCG industry.

The programme which comprises industry news, analysis, and interviews will air Wednesday on TVC News DStv Channel 418 at 12:30 pm and WAP TV at 8 pm. A repeat of the program will also air Thursday on WAP TV at 9 am.

In this interview, Nsima will highlight the challenges and opportunities in the FMCG sector and how industry players are coping with the new challenges occasioned by inflation, competition, and rapid evolution of consumers.

The renowned Marketing professional was the Country Lead, West Africa, Unilever, one of the leading FMCG companies in the world. She had earlier served as the Marketing Director for Unilever Nigeria, a position she held for about five years.

As Marketing Director, she led Marketing Strategy and Innovation programs across Tea Africa and drive growth in existing countries and white spaces, represent Africa on the BEVEX, Global Beverages Category Leadership Team, led by EVP Global Beverages and engaged with the Global Brand leaders to build on the category strategy and innovation agenda for Africa.

In the course of a career that spanned more than two decades’, Nsima has developed a reputation for being a consumer and customer-focused business leader with strong cross-functional experience and knowledge in Marketing, Business Strategy, Execution, Planning, Coaching and Mentoring.  She is passionate about building winning teams, making positive impact, diversity and digital.

She cut her teeth in Cadbury Nigeria Plc., where she began her career as a Brand Manager in 2000. She was there for five years before she left in 2005 to pitch her tent with Unilever Nigeria as a Marketing Manager. At Unilever, she excelled at Strategic planning and implementation of brand plans, managing a portfolio of brands and Brand Managers to deliver financial returns, build brand equity and grow market share in the competitive FMCG market. She was also in charge of managing creative and activation agencies to ensure brand plans are brought to life in a memorable way that delivers set objectives.
