Grand Oak’s Seaman’s Schnapps Emerges Leader
The recently held Marketing Edge Brands and Marketing Excellence awards marked another glorious night of honour for Grand Oak Limited, Nigeria’s leading marketer and distributor of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as two of its top brands emerged winners in their respective categories.
One of the big winners at the annual event, which took place at the prestigious Civic Centre in Lagos, was Seaman’s Aromatic Schnapps, which won the Schnapps Leadership Brand of the Decade category, one of the most coveted categories of the award.
According to the organisers of the award, Seaman’s was adjudged winner because of its numerous years of consistent leadership in the Schnapps segment and its undisputed high quality content.
Seaman’s is a leading spirit in the schnapps category and has dominated its category for over 30 years. It is also described as the number one prayer drink, Seaman’s has excelled in taste and is the most preferred and trusted schnapps brand in Nigeria.
Grand Oak Limited again was called to the podium when another of its brand Lord’s Dry Gin was declared winner in the Outstanding Brand Relaunch of the year category. It was another highly competitive category, but Lord’s Dry Gin took the day because of the innovative and customer-centric approach at its brand relaunch.
The wave-making brand was relaunched at the high-profile hotel, Golden Tulip, in Lagos. According to Grand Oak Limited, the relaunch became imperative because of the company’s desire to reposition the Lord’s Dry Gin and reinforce its drive for increasing market share amidst heightened competition.
The colourful and glamorous brand relaunch was the cynosure of all eyes as it attracted key stakeholders in the alcoholic segment in Nigeria, as well as the crème de la crème of the media industry.
Lord’s Dry Gin has been in existence since 1982 and it has enjoyed leadership in the gin market: top bars and hotels use Lord’s for their cocktail mixes. It can be compared with international standard gins. Lord’s is positioned at the premium segment for discerning ladies and gentlemen.
Basking from the euphoria of the triumph, Grand Oak’s Managing Director Aare Fatai Odesile declared that the award was a confirmation of the dominance of the company’s brands in the market, and the commitment by Grand Oak Limited to deliver only world class alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
He said, “I am extremely happy. Naturally you feel happy when you are recognized. And I can attribute that to the resilience of the team at Grand Oak Limited and the determination to succeed in the face of challenges. I am proud of the team,” he said, adding that the award is like a tonic and a challenge to the company to do even better going forward.
