Filmone Limited appoints Ladun Awobokun as chief content officer

Nigeria’s leading film production and distribution company, Filmone Limited, has announced the official appointment of Ladun Awobokun as the Chief Content Officer.
This strategic decision highlights the company’s dedication to strengthening its creative vision and reinforcing its leadership within the entertainment industry.
Taking to its official LinkedIn page, the company announced, “Congratulations to our very own Ladun Awobokun on her new appointment as Chief Content Officer at FilmOne Limited. Her journey with Filmone Limited has been marked by her passion creating opportunities for filmmakers to tell their stories.”
“In her new role as Chief Content Officer, Ladun Awobokun will oversee the creative direction, operations and content strategy of both divisions of the company; Filmone Entertainment and Filmone Studios. In her previous role as General Manager, Ladun Awobokun was instrumental in obtaining exclusive distribution rights for major Hollywood studios such as Sony Pictures and Walt Disney in Anglophone West Africa, establishing Filmone as the market leader with the highest market share in the region.
During her tenure, Filmone distributed 90% of the top-grossing Nollywood films, including the groundbreaking “A Tribe Called Judah,” which was the first Nollywood film to surpass N1 billion at the box office, as well as “Wakanda Forever,” “Ajosepo,” and “King of Thieves,” among others.

Prior to joining FilmOne Limited, Ladun served as a Market Risk Monitoring and Reporting officer and a Research Analyst at FirstBank. She holds a degree in Accounting from the prestigious Babcock University and is an alumnus of Aston University where she obtained a Master’s degree in Information Systems and Business Analysis.
