In a clear affirmation of the rising weight of digital out-of-home media in Nigeria, MARKETING EDGE, EDGE AWARDS 2026 crowned Docu2Data Limited the EDGE Outstanding Young Transit Advertising Platform of the Year. The honour was conferred at the 14th edition of the awards, held on Friday, 25 September 2026, at Ten Degrees Event Hall, Billings Way, Oregun, Lagos, under the theme “Celebrating Excellence Beyond Borders”. It was a fitting recognition for a company that, less than a year after unveiling its in-bus screen network to the public, has moved from promising newcomer to a reference point for transit media in the city.

The idea behind Docu2Data is simple but powerful: place brand messages where attention is real. The Lagos-based, data-driven marketing and technology company has installed digital screen inside Lagos BRT buses and on the Blue Line Train, environments where a message cannot be skipped or scrolled past, and where the same commuters meet a campaign repeatedly across their daily journeys. By the company’s own account, the network now reached more than 1.5 million commuters every month.

That reach has its roots in launch held in Ikoyi in October 2025, when Docu2Data officially introduced its Smart In-Bus Screen Solution, placing 150 digital screens across 38 BRT routes in partnership with the Lagos Metropolitan Area Transport Authority (LAMATA). The agency, represented on the day by Dr Olukemi Amure, spoke of a vision that has taken four years to realise, and made the case that a modern transport system must do more than move people; it must also inform, engage and enrich the commuter experience. LAMATA was equally clear about its choice of partner, stressing a deliberate commitment to indigenous technology firms that equally clear about its choice of partner, stressing a deliberate commitment to indigenous technology firms that understand local conditions, a position that placed Docu2Data squarely within the wider homegrown technology agenda of Lagos State.

Behind the project stands Bolaji Akinfolarin, founder and Managing Director, singled out at the launch as the architect of the initiative. His ambition, expresses during a BRT ride to the venue, was to turn public transport spaces into dynamic communication platforms for brands, and the results suggest that ambition has been matched by execution.

What distinguishes Docu2Data from a mere screen operators is its insistence on accountability. The platform gives advertisers proof of play, audience insights and performance reports, so that a brand can see precisely how and where a campaign was delivered, a promise the company sums up as visibility with intelligence. Access has been kept deliberately simple: advertisers select a package covering 50, 100 or 150 screens, upload a video advertisement, and the company takes care of formatting, scheduling and placement. Beyond the screens themselves, Docu2Data also offers on-ground activations and corridor presence through bus and train wraps, while a self-serve dashboard with real-time analytics and an expansion to more BRT routes across Lagos are already on its roadmap.

All of this serves a bold mission, which is to build the largest transit digital signage network in Nigeria and to deliver up to ten times more value on advertising spend. The award does not declare that mission complete. Rather, it signals that the industry has noticed a young platform doing the demanding work of proving that transit media can be measurable, accountable and commercially persuasive.

For advertisers and agencies weighing where to place spend in an increasingly crowded media landscape, the message from the EDGE AWARDS is plain: the commuter in motion is a valuable audience, and Docu2Data has earned its place on the podium by reaching that audience with discipline, data and a clear sense of purpose.
