Dentsu creates new global chief product officer/media role, promote Doug Ray to fill it
Dentsu International has promoted Doug Ray to Global Chief Product Officer of Media.
In his new role, Ray will be responsible for the vision and delivery of the “media product roadmap” for Dentsu and its agency operating unit, Carat, iProspect and Dentsu X.
Ray will also continue in his current role as Chief Product Officer of Dentsu Americas, and will report jointly to Peter Huijboom, Global CEO of media and Jeff Greenspoon, president of solutions, Americas.
In a statement, Huijboom explained the expanded remit and new role for Ray saying: “As the media landscape becomes increasingly complex, we must continue to deliver on our strategic priority to be the industry leader in delivering idea-led, data-driven and tech-enabled solutions to grow our clients’ businesses.”
Ray said: “With the changes we’ve seen in media over the past several years, it is more important now than ever before to prioritize our product agenda.”
“I look forward to leveraging our vast network of experts and strategic alliances to continue to build the next generation of product solutions that address these challenges and create meaningful progress,” Ray stated.
Ray joined Dentsu over 17 years ago and was formerly the chief executive of Carat U.S. and its first global president. He became the network’s first president of product and innovation, leading the growth of its product suite which included the integration of Merkle’s M1 platform.
