Coca-Cola extends beverage segment with Jack Daniel’s
Inspired by the iconic bar cocktail, the Coca-Cola Company is growing its portfolio of alcohol beverages with the launch of ready-to-drink Jack Daniel’s infused Coca-Cola Zero Sugar drink, Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola.
Coca-Cola, whose portfolio of brands ranges from iconic sparkling beverages to water, sports drinks, teas, juices and coffee, has for decades positioned itself as the world’s leader in non-alcohol, ready-to-drink beverages.
Khalil Younes, who is responsible for leading Coca-Cola’s segments of flavoured alcohol beverages, said: “We are strategically experimenting and learning in alcohol. We are excited about the opportunities, but we also know it will require effort and patience. Our ambition is to grow our brands in a responsible and sustainable way to those who choose to consume and are over the legal purchase and drinking age.”
Coca-Cola has also announced plans to work with industry partners and other stakeholders to promote moderate consumption and support efforts to reduce harm.
The Jack Daniel’s & Coca-Cola ready-to-drink beverage will be made with Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey and Coca-Cola with 5% alcohol. The beverage will be available in markets around the world, with initial launch planned for Mexico in late 2022.
Coca-Cola said: “The Coca-Cola Company recognizes that the entry in the alcohol category brings new responsibilities – ones it takes very seriously. The company will ensure any consumer who chooses to drink alcohol does so responsibly.”
