Bola Atta urges student to leverage UBA essay competition platform

The amiable director behind the UBA Foundation’s education initiative, Bola Atta, 1st Group Director, Corporate Communication at UBA PLC /CEO at UBA Foundation, has urged students to utilize and leverage the life-changing opportunity provided by the UBA Foundation’s education initiative, through the National Essay Competition (NEC), which has commenced its 2021 edition for senior secondary school students in Nigeria. The Foundation, which is now in its 11th year, provides a competitive platform to develop the intellectual and writing abilities of senior secondary school students in Nigeria, enabling winners to get educational grants to study in any African University of their choice.
This is in line with the bank’s vision of promoting literacy and encouraging healthy and intellectual competition amongst senior secondary school students in Nigeria and across the African continent.
The Executive Director, REDTV, stated this in her social media platform, while encouraging students not to miss the scholarship opportunity. She revealed that the UBA National Essay Competition is still accepting entries for this year’s competition, urged them to apply, as this will enable them win a scholarship to university. This year’s edition will be focusing on the topic: “What is the Role of Technology in Educating the African youth? Students are urged to hurry up and register as application deadline will be October 29th, 2021.
“We are currently receiving digital entries for the 2021 NEC edition in Nigeria and it is open to all senior secondary school students across the country. All they have to do is scan a handwritten essay on the selected topic and upload it on the portal https://lnkd.in/dDfDawvU before the 12th of November, 2021. Good luck.”
The first Group Director, who was very elated about the success stories and enduring legacies achieved by the UBA Foundation in its journey since its inception in 2010, noted that the UBA Foundation has been able to support the university education of hundreds of young children, some of whom have gone on to uplift the economic welfare of their families.
“One of our top initiatives at the Foundation is the National Essay Competition (NEC), which has been ongoing since 2010, in several countries on the continent, affording scholarships to tertiary education, for those who would otherwise not have the opportunity. Through the NEC, the UBA Foundation has been able to support the university education of hundreds of young children, some of whom have gone on to uplift the economic welfare of their families.”
