AB InBev’s U.S. CMO Garbe to depart amid organizational restructure

Benoit Garbe, the U.S. Chief Marketing Officer at AB InBev, is set to leave the company by the year’s end, marking the apparent dissolution of the position as part of a strategic overhaul.
An Anheuser-Busch spokesperson confirmed Garbe’s imminent departure, framing it within a strategic restructuring. The statement noted, “Benoit Garbe, U.S. Chief Marketing Officer, will be resigning at the end of the year to pursue a new chapter in his career. Going forward, U.S. Chief Commercial Officer Kyle Norrington will assume comprehensive oversight, dedicating efforts to all facets of marketing activities, including brand strategies, portfolio planning, insights, analytics, and investments.”
According to the spokesperson, U.S. Chief Sales Officer Simon Wuestenberg and High-End Business Unit President Andy Thomas will now directly report to Anheuser-Busch CEO Brendan Whitworth, streamlining the company’s leadership structure.
“This week, we announced pivotal changes to our U.S. leadership team, reducing organizational layers and empowering top commercial leaders to drive our business and heritage forward.”
AB InBev has recently channeled significant investments into marketing campaigns supporting its Bud Light brand in the U.S., notably targeting NFL and college football enthusiasts. Additionally, the company secured a multiyear agreement, becoming “The Official Beer Partner of the UFC.”
Garbe’s departure follows the earlier leave of Bud Light Vice President, Marketing Alissa Heinerscheid, and Anheuser-Busch Group Vice President, Marketing Daniel Blake, earlier this year. Current updates indicate Heinerscheid may have parted ways with the company permanently, as her LinkedIn profile cites her Bud Light role from July 2022 to October 2023. Attempts by Marketing Daily to obtain clarity from AB InBev regarding Heinerscheid and Blake’s status remained unanswered at the time of publication.
