Maureen Ifada, Marketing Director at FrieslandCampina WAMCO Nigeria Plc, brings more than two decades of experience across brand management, shopper marketing, channel development and commercial strategy to the marketing industry.
A seasoned marketing professional, Ifada began her career at FrieslandCampina WAMCO in 2003 as a Management Trainee in the Consumer Marketing Department. She subsequently rose through various roles, including Senior Brand Manager for Three Crowns Milk and Marketing Manager for Peak Milk, one of Nigeria’s leading dairy brands.
Throughout her career, she has played a key role in developing and executing portfolio and brand strategies, managing profit and loss, advertising and promotion budgets, and leading integrated communication strategies from conception through production and execution.
In 2019, Ifada moved into Consumer Development and Shopper Marketing, where she served as Head, Shopper Marketing for Modern Trade and E-Commerce, Alternative Trade Business and Food Service Professionals. The role broadened her commercial expertise, with a focus on shopper marketing strategies and initiatives designed to drive conversion along the path to purchase.
In January 2022, she took on the role of Head, Channel and Category Development for the FrieslandCampina Sub-Saharan Africa Cluster. Her responsibilities included developing channel and category strategies strengthening strategic partnerships, translating brand plans into channel initiatives and driving product presence, relevance and prominence at the point of purchase.
She currently serves as Marketing Director, where she is responsible for developing and implementing marketing strategies aligned with business objectives, overseeing brand financial planning and forecasts, managing marketing investments and building high-performing teams.
Her academic and professional credentials include an MBA from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot-Watt University, and a BSc in Business Administration from Ambrose Alli University. She is also a Fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria and holds a Professional Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing, UK.
With a career spanning brand building, consumer understanding and commercial execution, Ifada brings a perspective that connects cultural relevance with the realities of building brands in competitive markets.
At the MARKETING EDGE 2025 National Marketing Stakeholders Summit, themed “Cultural Authenticity as Currency: Turning Heritage into Modern Branding and Marketing,” her experience is expected to contribute to conversations around how brands can remain commercially relevant while building stronger connections with consumers and their cultural contexts.
