Mansur Muhtar appointed as Chair of Bank of Industry

President Bola Tinubu has endorsed the appointment of Dr. Mansur Muhtar as the Chairperson of the Bank of Industry Limited, ushering in a fresh leadership team at the institution that will lead a new board of industry experts
Dr. Muhtar, a distinguished figure with an extensive background in finance, global development, governance, and academia, brings a wealth of experience to this pivotal role. His illustrious career includes his tenure as Nigeria’s Minister of Finance, Budget, and Economic Planning from 2008 to 2010, and his recent position as Vice-President of Operations at the Islamic Development Bank.
Ajuri Ngelale, the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, emphasized that President Tinubu anticipates that Dr. Muhtar, along with the newly appointed board members, will collaborate efficiently and with utmost dedication to advancing the Bank of Industry’s mission. According to him, the President has tasked the new board with driving the institution’s goals of fostering economic growth, enhancing job creation, and improving the living standards of Nigerian citizens.
Joining Dr. Muhtar on the board are other highly respected professionals, including Dr. Olasupo Olusi as Managing Director/CEO, Mrs. Ifeoma Uz’Okpala as Executive Director of Large Enterprises, and Mr. Shekarau Omar as Executive Director of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises. The board also includes Mr. Usen Effiong, Ms. Mabel Ndagi, Mr. Rotimi Akinde, and several non-executive directors representing various sectors, such as the Central Bank of Nigeria, the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, and the Federal Ministry of Industry, Trade & Investment.
The appointment of this diverse and seasoned board is seen as a strategic move to reinforce the Bank of Industry’s role as a catalyst for Nigeria’s economic transformation.
